The final AP rankings of the 2017 season are out and of course the new national champs, Alabama, come in at number 1. And the runner up, Georgia finishes off the season at number 2, with Oklahoma and Clemson rounding out the top 4 just as they did in the playoffs. But how about everyone else?

Ohio St. rounds out the top 5 and everyones new favorite team, the UCF Golden Knights received their highest ranking yet to finish off the season at number 6. Incase you are wondering, they did get 6 first place votes. After all, they were the only undefeated team.

Wisconsin, Penn St, TCU, and Auburn finished off the top ten. While the Hurricanes fell to number 13 in the final poll this season after losing to the Badgers in the Orange bowl.

Meanwhile, in an early poll for the 2018 season the Canes are projected to be ranked 9th going into the season with much promise and returning talent. While UCF after losing some talent and their entire coaching staff, is projected at number 21 to start the year.

The top of the early rankings look a lot like the final rankings this season with Bama, Clemson, Georgia, and Ohio St in the top 4. Of course these are just projections based off of what each school has lost and bringing back in 2018. The official pre season rankings won’t come out until August, but it’s still fun to speculate nonetheless.
