Jameis Winston to Start Despite Injury

Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston will start this Sunday against the Bufalo Bills despite being injured. The news was reported Friday on Twitter by to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times and later confirmed by several other sources.

The 23-year-old sprained the AC joint in his throwing shoulder during last week’s loss to the Arizona Cardinals and did not throw in practice Thursday due to the injury.

Despite it all, Winston believe he’ll be ready for the tough road game against the Bills.

“My thought process is to play. … I’m ready. When it’s time to let me go, I’m ready,” Winston said via NFL.com’s Marc Sessler.

Before his injury,Winston had 1,259 passing yards, seven touchdowns and three interceptions while completing 60.4 percent of his passes. In 2016 he had his best season throwing for 4,090 yards and 28 touchdowns.
