Jay Cutler feared to have cracked rib

The NFL Network is reporting that the Miami Dolphins believe quarterback Jay Cutler suffered a cracked rib in Sunday’s 31-28 win over the Jets.  He could be out 2-3 weeks

The Dolphins QB exited the game after taking a hit from Jets linebacker Jordan Jenkins in the third quarter. He was seen grabbing the left side of his chest as he headed to the locker room.

Dolphins coach Adam Gase said the medical staff has an idea of what Cutler’s injury is, but need an MRI to confirm.

“I didn’t really get into it with them. It’s something with his chest – the chest and ribs area… It’s just hard for me to say anything right now.” Coach Gase told reporters.   There should be more clarity by Monday morning on Cutler’s condition.

The Dolphins have a short turn around as their next game is Thursday night in Baltimore against the Ravens.  While it is possible to play through a cracked rib, odds are he won’t be playing in prime time this week.
