This weekend in college football, big game schedule and lines

It’s already week 12 in college football and tomorrow marks the last Saturday before Thanksgiving. The season is flying by. And on weekends like this where the big game schedule isn’t as sexy as in previous weeks, things have a way of getting a little kooky.

We start of course in Miami, where the Hurricanes will be looking to improve to 10-0 on the season as they face off against a 6-4 Virginia team. It’s Senior day, the final home game of the season and the Canes come in as 18 point favorites. The atmosphere inside the stadium will be very different than it has been over the past two weeks of national prime time games, plus they have already clinched the Coastal division. So the Canes need to stay focused in this one to avoid any let downs and stay undefeated and in the playoff race. Kick off from Hard Rock is set for 12pm.

Next up and also at noon, #5 Wisconsin will be looking to hold off an upset minded Michigan team. The Wolverines come into Madison flying under the radar at 8-2 on the season. Michigan has won 3 straight games going into this one and are looking to reclaim some respect in the Big 10. Meanwhile, the Badgers stand at 10-0 and find themselves trying to prove they are worthy of a playoff birth. Wisconsin opened up as a 10 point favorite and have fallen to 7 points since then. I am putting the Badgers on upset alert in this one.

And then finally, the Shula Bowl will be taking place in Boca Raton when Butch Davis and FIU come to visit Lane Kiffin and the fighting Owls of FAU. The Owls come in as 14 point favorites and leaders of the eastern division in conference USA. FAU has a surprising 6-0 conference record and are 7-3 overall. Kickoff from Boca is set for 7pm.

Some other funky games out there this Saturday include Oklahoma traveling to play Kansas. The #4 Sooners are 37 point favorites for the 3:30 kickoff. Number one Alabama has a home game against powerhouse Mercer at noon. In fact, this game is so competitive, they didn’t even bother to make a betting line for it. Number three Clemson also has a bye week game scheduled against the Citadel, again, no line. And number five Auburn are 37 point favorites at home against UL Monroe for a noon kickoff.

So even though there aren’t as many sexy games as the past few weeks, don’t sleep on some of these match ups, because that’s when crazy things could happen. Enjoy your Saturday everyone.
