Coach Baz Alfred Leaves Heights For Jupiter Christian

Olympic Heights football coach Baz Alfred has stepped down from his position as the head coach of the Lions and will be accepting a job as the new head coach at Jupiter Christian. Alfred has been at Olympic Heights for the past 4 years as a coordinator under Chris Kokell and then as a head coach after Kokell moved on to Jensen Beach. The Lions have transformed form a team that was 0-10 and outscored by almost 545-24 points in a season to a team that has finished .500 or better and has been in playoff contention each of the last few years.  Olympic Heights has also become a place that annually sends players of to college at all levels.
Prior to Heights, Alfred was an assistant coach at Wellington, Forest Hill and Saint John Paul II (Pope). During the past decade Alfred, a Boca Raton grad, has made a name for himself in the local football community for having his teams play a fast paced, exciting style of football. His teams are known for being a hard working, grind it out style while also having flair.
“I will be eternally grateful for the opportunities given to me at Olympic Heights and more so the relationships that have formed between myself and the players. They will always be family to me.” Alfred said. “Knowing that Heights football is in a good solid place that has everything it needs to be successful makes a real tough decision just a little bit easier”.

At Jupiter Christian Alfred takes over a team that went 7-1 last season under long time coach Jim Davis and hopes to continue the success of the previous regime. “I am truly blessed and extremely excited for my family and I to become a part of the Jupiter Christian family on and off the field.” said a smiling Alfred adding that he “can’t wait to get to know the players, share my vision with them and get to work, building on the foundations of a already storied program.”
