Maybe the Miami Dolphins when playing in South Florida are Tom Brady’s kryptonite. The Dolphins who have given the Superman of NFL quarterbacks fits before , especially in Miami, knocked off the New England Patriots 27-20 on Monday Night Football at Hard Rock Stadium. The Dolphin defense appeared motivated and aggressive all night long.
It was evident right from the outset that Miami’s defense came to play. Brady did not complete his first pass until the second quarter and Miami cornerback Xavien Howard looked like the second coming of Deion Sanders, as he picked off Brady twice and took Pats deep threat Brandin Cooks completely out of the game. Who is this Howard kid ? He now has four interceptions in the past two games. Brady who i am pretty sure never looks forward to South Florida visits finished with 233 passing yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. Check, Dolphins defense.
Surprisingly Jay Cutler may have played his best game of the season, even showing flashes of emotion at times. He threw for 263 yards, and three touchdowns. Running back Kenyan Drake rushed for a game-high 114 yards and showed explosiveness with some shake and bake in his step. Looks like the Dolphins knew what they were talking about when they traded Jay Ajayi for a classic Biggie mixtape and a Happy Meal. The Alabama product has the goods.
Tom Brady might be the greatest, but the Miami Dolphins defense showed the GOAT very little respect on Monday night. Clearly up for the game, the Dolphins need to play the rest of the season like they did last night against the hated division rival. Don’t get me wrong. Brady showed flashes of why he is so widely regarded as the greatest quarterback of all time. He did not go down easily. However, the bottom line is he went down and beating him felt really good for Dolphin fans
