In a wild turn of events to what was already a frantic day of shocking news out of the U, Manny Diaz has now been named the new head coach of the University of Miami.
Earlier in the day, Mark Richt shocked everyone with his announcement that he would be retiring, an announcement that immediately began the speculation on who could be next to take over the mantle of head man. According to various reports, Oregon head coach and Miami guy, Mario Cristobal, was the front runner for the job literally up until this news just came out.
Diaz will now leave Temple where he had just began his new position as head coach of the Owls only a few days ago. You can’t make this stuff up.
It’s not Kiffin, it’s not Butch, or Leach, or even Rex Ryan. It’s Diaz.
And so ends one of the most wild days in the history of the Miami Hurricanes football program.
