Brock Osweiler wants to remain Dolphins starter…

So, this is a thing now.

Brocklobster, Brocktober, or whatever other name has been thrust upon us concerning the Dolphins back up QB, came out yesterday and said that thing after it was announced that Tannehill would be missing his 4th straight game come this Sunday vs the Jets with that nagging shoulder injury. He wants to be the starter, even when Tannehill is healthy enough to come back. QB controversy??

According to his best friend, Adam Gase, there is not going to be a controversy. Gase continues to say that Tannehill is the starter and will be again once he is able to return. But I pose this question to you, will it really matter?

Now, of course, it would seem obvious that Brock wants to remain the starter, he is after all by definition, a competitor. But from what my eyes are telling me, the difference between Tanny and Brocketship doesn’t seem to be that wide of a gap. From what I’ve seen they are both extremely mediocre quarterbacks. Quick, whose stats are these…64 percent completion percentage, 98.3 QB rating, 6 td’s and 3 int’s? Could be either one right? Which is my point exactly.

This isn’t the gap between Dan Marino and Bernie Kosar, or even Jay Fiedler and Ray Lucas, those were noticeable. The gap between these two very average guys is almost nonexistent and neither of them is going to accomplish anything too serious. It is time that we realize that, especially in the case of Tannehill…in his 7th season for goodness sakes.

Oh, and by the way, those stats are Osweiler’s over the past 3 games.

I will be fair to both of these average Joe’s though in saying one thing, the defense has been absolutely awful for this team as of late. I’m not really sure they could have played any worse, to be honest. So a handicap like that definitely does not help your cause when it comes to trying to win games.

But, the fact remains, whether it’s Osweiler or Tannehill moving forward, this NEEDS to be the last season we see either one of them under center in Miami.
