After last Sunday’s crushing 27-17 road loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, Miami Dolphin fans were enraged at the play of the team’s starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill. It seemed like poor Tanny could not do anything right as a couple of second-half blunders led to the Bengals storming back scoring the game’s final 27 points. One can say that is the type of hype that goes with being a starting quarterback in the NFL. They love you one week and hate you the next. Miami Dolphin fans are so frustrated because they simply have been unable to find that next great one since ol what’s his name? Oh yeah, that number thirteen guy. Mediocre seems to be the order of the day when describing every Dolphin quarterback since Dan Marino. Then on the heels of the latest Tannehill disaster, the New Orlean’s Saints Drew Brees became the NFL’s all-time passing yardage leader on Monday Night Football. All I heard from Dolphins fans was….we could have had that guy, but the team chose a broken down Dante Culpepper instead. Oh well.
After beginning the season 3-0, the Dolphins have lost back-to-back games to the Patriots and the Bengals. Tannehill’s play has been Aunt Esther ugly in both games. The Dolphins offense has scored just 17 points combined the last two weeks. Next up a mean Chicago Bears defense allowing only 16.3 points per game. The Bears are currently number 2 in total defense giving up an average of 294.5 yards per game. Sure seems like a long time since the Dolphins were high fiving their way down the field against the hapless Oakland Raiders. Ryan Tannehill’s play has been a glaring problem and Dolphin fans have basically had enough. No mas. I have always tried to defend Tannehill. You know the various offensive coordinators, he just started learning to be a QB., we might be out of excuses. Maybe he just stinks or is simply a Walmart version of Alex Smith. As someone once famously said, “Aint’t nobody got time for that” !!!
The Bears will come into The Rock as 3 point favorites and if that Dolphin offense namely the starting quarterback does not wake up soon, we could be in for another in a long line of disappointing Dolphins seasons. Right now Tannehill is one of the lowest-rated quarterbacks in the NFL through week 5. He needs to go see the wizard or something because he needs more courage, more heart, more talent. I mean Miko Grimes did try to tell us. This definitely could be Tannehill’s last chance to be the man in Miami and he simply must play better. As it stands right now, like an old TV show I used to watch, “Everybody Hates Chris”, and in these parts, “Everybody Hates Ryan”.
