The FAU Owls surged past Bethune-Cookman on Saturday night, earning their second win of the season and their second back-to-back home victory, 49-28.
Most of the Owls’ success in the game can be attributed to Running Back Devin Singletary, who scored a school-record five rushing touchdowns before halftime, putting the score at 36-14.
He now holds the C-USA record for rushing touchdowns in consecutive games.
Akevious Williams threw for a total of 201 yards and three touchdowns for the Wildcats, who are now 1-2 on the season.
The Owls (2-1) will face the UCF Knights (2-0) on Friday evening, September 14. UCF’s game against the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, which was to be played on September 15, was cancelled due to Hurricane Florence. No decision has been made on when or if that game will be rescheduled, since the two teams do not share a bye week this season.
