Hurricanes hoping to have good news by 3pm today

In a few hours, the Miami Hurricanes will know if they have succeeded in recruiting one of their top new recruits. Jarren Williams, a dual threat quarterback out of Georgia.

Williams de committed from Kentucky and now has UM, Ohio State, Auburn and Alabama on his short list. Though, most insiders believe his decision this afternoon will come down to Miami or Ohio St.

Mark Richt’s style of offense calls for a QB with Williams dual threat skill set, hence why he is their top choice at the position this recruiting season. Malik Rosier’s starting job is not set in stone for next year. And if Williams chooses the U later today, he will figure to compete for the starting job along with Rosier and last years prized dual threat QB recruit, N’Kosi Perry.

The coaching staff still has high hopes for Perry who rode the bench this past season as a freshman. He has been compared to the likes of Michael Vick and Lamar Jackson. Evan Shirreffs, who backed up Rosier in that one series against Pittsburgh, does not figure to be in the top three this up coming season if Williams comes aboard.
