Adding to the injury woes of 2019, the Yankees officially announced that Miguel Andujar won’t be coming back from the injured list this season.

The third baseman, who was benched Monday, is scheduled to have surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder, the team announced Wednesday.

His recovery from the operation is expected to keep him off the diamond for the remainder of the season.

The 24-year-old returned May 4th after missing five weeks because of the injury.

He realized he hadn’t fully healed after going 3 for 34 with nine strikeouts in nine games.

The only silver lining here is that Gio Urshela has been an aberration so far this season at third base, so we can only hope that his stellar play will continue now that he will presumably become an everyday player the rest of the season.
