Joey Logano said it was the big 3 and him but he was still confident that he was the championship favorite. That statement drew the ire of his competitors, but he proved them wrong tonight winning the Ford Ecoboost 400 and the 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Championship.

Logano grabbed the lead late from Martin Truex Jr. and never looked back pulling away from the field and winning the race by nearly 2 seconds. For Logano, it’s his first championship in NASCAR while his owner Roger Penske is celebrating his 2nd Cup Series title.

The Championship 4 drivers claimed the top 4 spots in the race with Truex finishing 2nd, Harvick in 3rd, and Kyle Busch in 4th.
