Let’s party like it’s 2014.
Jorge Mas and Inter Miami CF will hold a demolition ceremony on Wednesday in Fort Lauderdale.
It’s been more than five years since David Beckham came to Miami to announce he is starting an MLS team.
Since then it’s been party after party.
The team has a name and cool merchandise, but still no players, no coaches, and no fields to play on.
While it may seem like the demolition of Lockhart Stadium will lead to a temporary stadium for Inter Miami to play their first two seasons, it’s not a done deal.
The city still says a final agreement is not complete. Once an agreement is complete, it will be voted on by the city.
More sports in South Florida is great, but we should let this one play out before we get too excited again.
A deal is not done until it’s done.
