The Thrill of victory and the agony of defeat was epitomized this weekend

There is no better roller coaster of life than being a Miami sports fan. And that truth was made known this weekend especially.

Saturday night at Hard Rock Stadium provided for some of the best drama you could ever imagine as a Miami Hurricane fan. The crowd was restless and weary as Miami fell behind 27-7 in the third quarter. But then the winds started to shift as the Canes scored after an FSU fumble to make it 27-14. Then the place went berzerk as Miami scored another touchdown just a minute later off of another turnover t make the score 27-21. I kid you not when I say the floor of the press box beneath my feet was shaking. After that, the rest is history as they say.

South Florida and Miami fans were on cloud 9 for the rest of the night after scoring 21 straight points to beat Florida St. Things couldn’t get any better. And unfortunately, they didn’t.

Enter the Miami Dolphins.

The now 3-2 Miami Dolphins. The hapless and hopeless Miami Dolphins. My oh my how things can change in two weeks. Or in 1 half of football for that matter.

The shock was real yesterday as Miami jumped out to a 17-0 lead in Cincy. It was the third quarter and they were shutting out their fellow first place and division-leading team! The shock started to turn into belief as Miami continued to perform and make fans believe that “hey, this team seems like they are for real!” And just as that shock started to morph into belief, the Dolphins reminded all of us why it has been so hard to take that leap of faith in the past.

There are many things and people we can blame for that loss yesterday *cough* Tannehill, but I won’t really go into all of that here *violently coughs* Gase! The fact of the matter is that the Miami Dolphins are now 3-2 and tied with New England for the division lead that they once held all alone. And now they have to face a Bears team who are playing like gangbusters and coming off of a bye week. At least the game is in Miami, that’s good, right?

There is nothing quite like being a Miami sports fan. You truly do get to experience the entire spectrum of emotions. We’ll see what this upcoming weekend will bring next!
