Time for Miami to reset their goals

These past two weeks and these past two wins have changed the Miami Hurricane football program for quite possibly, years to come.

With Nationally televised emphatic wins over Virginia Tech and Notre Dame behind them, it’s time for the Canes to look forward to even more lofty goals. The Coastal division is clinched. A December 2nd match up vs Clemson for the ACC title is already scheduled. So now, it’s time to reset and refocus.

There are only two games remaining in this regular season before that ACC title tilt. And Miami has to avoid the letdown performance in both of those games if they want to meet their new goals, which now include winning the ACC and making the College Football Playoff.

First up is Virginia next Saturday for the final home game of the season. It’s Senior day for Miami, the last time those men will play in front of the home crowd. And its a game that they are already favored by 20 points in. Then they will travel to Pittsburgh to play a 4-6 panther team who would love nothing more than to spoil the season for Miami on their own Senior day.

If they can avoid the letdown in this final stretch, the Canes will be 11-0 heading into Charlotte to play for the ACC title. Which would in essence make that game a quarter final playoff with the winner advancing to the final four. Win out, and your in.

Miami knows what’s at stake here in this final stretch of the season. A shot at the playoffs and a ultimately a shot at a national title. They have built themselves back up to national prominence and put themselves in this position with their big wins.

Now it’s time to reset and refocus. A national title is at stake.
