In an unforeseen but positive turn of events, Dwyane Wade is returning to the Miami Heat as a result of a deal done an hour before the NBA’s trade deadline which was at 3 p.m.

The Heat have traded a protected second-round draft pick to the Cavaliers in exchange for the point guard who is arguably one the greatest players in NBA history.

Wade’s wife, Gabrielle Union, confirmed the news on social media.

Wade has spent most of his NBA career with the Miami Heat first drafted by the Heat in 2003 and has won three NBA Championships in 2006, 2012 and 2013.

The Miami Heat have not yet released an official statement on the trade.
