A few of the Miami Hurricanes top defensive players have some thinking to do.
RJ McIntosh and Kendrick Norton , two of Miami’s best players on defense this past season, have made it known that they are considering to skip their senior seasons and make the jump to the NFL. In fact, before the Orange Bowl this past Saturday it was believed that both players were all but ready to leave. But now, it seems that they are reconsidering to the point where it is considered to be 50/50.
McIntosh and Norton are roommates and close friends which factors into the decision here. If one stays, the other is going to stay. And vice versa. According to early draft reports, both players would be expected to be picked somewhere around the 3rd round. Which means it may be worth it to them personally and financially to come back and make one more run at a national title together.
Another name to watch is junior DB Michael Jackson. Jackson seems to be leaning toward staying for his senior season and playing alongside Jaquan Johnson who already decided to come back for his last year. It is said that Jackson would be picked somewhere around the 4th round at this point.
If Miami can keep this group to go along with the incoming and returning talent that they already have, this defense could create even more turnovers than they did this past season when they were ranked 2nd nationally. It would definitely be nice to see them all come back for one more shot together.
