Yankees Can’t Hold Lead

Even though it’s very early in the season for the Yankees and ravaged with injuries, the frustration sets in when a team that won 100 games last season lose two out of three to a team that they should beat. The “Not So Hot” Bronx Bombers (6-9) are missing 5 dangerous regulars of “Murders Row” from their lineup. Judge did all he could in this one by being the one man show. The real MVP of this team, scored on Voit’s double, lined an RBI single, threw out Moncada trying for a two-base hit and made an incredible leaping catch to rob a potential Home Run. Tanaka an early 2-0 lead and lost control in the fourth and fifth inning as the Yankees lost 5-2 to the Chicago White Sox. Tanaka allowed 5 runs on 7 hits, 6 K’s and 3 walks in 4 innings. He left with the bases loaded and none out in the fifth, and Jose Abreu made it 5-2 with a sacrifice fly.

The biggest blow of the game was the Grand Slam in the 4th inning in which Tanaka walked 2 batters in a row and Aaron Boone did nothing but watch.
