The Yankees landed free agent 2nd baseman Neil Walker Monday pending a physical, to a one year contract.

This gives the Yankees a veteran in the middle of their infield at a cost of $5 million, which also puts them at $197 million luxury-tax threshold that should still provide some flexibility.

Walker hit .266 last year with 14 homeruns, with the Mets and Brewers.
