Yankees Weekend Postponed

The field is covered as the Yankees and Tigers were rained out Saturday, April 14, 2018 in Detroit. The Yankees beat the Tigers 8-6 on Friday night, and the teams will try to play a split doubleheader Sunday to finish this three-game series — but the weather then might not be any better. According to baseball fans, the grey, gloomy and wet weather following the Evil Empire this past weekend was either a sign or warning. Both games scheduled for Saturday and Sunday this past weekend were postponed due to terrible weather. Those games will now be made up on June 4th as a doubleheader. The Yankees got the chance to rest the players and pitching rotation. Also, it gives Aaron Boone a chance to adjust or rethink if he is the right man for the job.

It’s been very obvious that the Bronx Bombers are not living up to the expectations everyone was hoping for. On paper, it is a dream team but in reality, the Yankees are a dismal and disappointing 7-7. Call them a sleeping giant for now, but they are quietly sitting in the 3rd place of the AL East while the Boston Red Sox are the hottest team right now. While injuries have played a factor since Spring Training, it is not an excuse or pass for new Manager Aaron Boone. Both Stanton and Sanchez have batting averages below .250 while last year’s leader strikeouts in a season may not be Aaron Judge if Giancarlo Stanton continues his poor performance sitting with 25 strikeouts in 14 games.

Aaron Boone needs to shake it up and spark a fire in the clubhouse to lead this team in the right direction or it will be a long season for the Yankees or a short exit for the skipper come July.
